2nd and 3rd day!/ 2e en 3e dag!

Hey everybody!
I hope you are all doing well :)
I am going to put the 2nd and 3rd day together because i didnt do that much on the 2nd day haha.
So saturday was the 2nd day I was in Japan. I first was planning to go to a department store and was really hungry in the morning however after i got breakfast i started feeling so nauseous probably from the jetlag. So in the end i stayed inside all day on my bed and just talking with friends because I just wasnt feeling well. In the evening i was able to get some dinner at the restaurant downstairs in the hotel and had a pizza margerita. And ofcourse its super awesome to be in Tokyo but at those moments I really wished i had a friend with me because sitting all by yourself in the middle of the hotel surrounded by all couples and families isnt really that enjoyable.
However, the 3rd day i felt a lot better and luckily the stores are open on sunday in Tokyo :P. The day started off with an earthquake which was pretty weird for me, as i have never felt any before in my life. No damage tho and im still alive hahaa. So i went to Shinjuku after some confusion with the subway but it was a great experience and saw some awesome food and got a really cute dress and skirt at the h&m! After walking around some more i tried to get a happy meal at the McDonalds, unfortunately they couldn't understand me and i ended up with only chicken nuggets hahaha. And i got some starbucks! By the time i went back it was already around 8/9 pm and was able to get some extra food at another McDonalds hahaha. When i arrived at the hotel I was able to take a relaxing bath before i got to call my brother for his birthday and got to see some of my family on skype aswell which was fun!
And that was about it for the 2nd and 3rd day. I know it might not sound like much but I did alot of walking so by the end of it was super tired haha.

Ik hoop dat het allemaal goed met jullie gaat :)
Ik heb dag 2 en 3 even samen gevoegd aangezien ik de 2e dag niet heel veel heb gedaan.
Zaterdag was de 2e dag in Japan en ik had geplanned om naar een groot winkelcentrum te gaan in shinjuku maar helaas werd ik heel misselijk van het ontbijt (waarschijnlijk door me jetlag) en heb de hele dag op bed gelegen af en toe geslapen en veel met vrienden enzo kunnen praten. Gelukkig kon ik de volgende dag gewoon winkelen aangezien ik weer was opgeknapt. De dag begon goed met een aardbeving van 4.1 op de schaal van richter maar gelukkig geen schade ofzo alleen een heel raar gevoel hahaha. Na wat gereistte hebben met de metro en een beetje heen en weer te hebben gelopen kwam ik eindelijk aan in shinjuku. Heb rond gegeken in een groot bekend warenhuis maar dat was uiteindelijk best wel prijzig dus ben over gegaan naar de h&m en heb daar een leuk rokje en jurkje op de kop kunnen tikken.
Toen ik eindelijk wat eten wou halen (happy meal bij de mcdonalds) werd ik maar niet begrepen en heb ik alleen wat kipnuggets gehad. Later gelukkig wel gewoon nog wat patat kunnen halen in een andere Mcdonalds en nog wat starbucks kunnen halen wat ook wel leuk was.
En toen ik eindelijk weer thuis in me hotel was heb ik lekker een bad kunnen nemen voor ik met me broer ging skypen voor zijn verjaardag en heb toen ook gelijk een paar van me familie kunnen zien wat wel leuk was.
Dat was het dan voor dag 2 en 3

First day!/ Eerste dag!

Hey everybody!
So Today i arrived at Tokyo Narita airport and had no problems with customs so thats great! I ended up flying with Japan airlines which was awesome cause their service is really nice and got alot of food and drinks aswell :D.
After arriving at the airport I had to figure out how to get to the hotel. Well the subway/train was pretty straightforward at first but it got more confusing by the minute hahah. I got to meet a nice girl from the UK which was also traveling to tokyo and she had to get off a stop later than me so that was nice that we got to travel together for a bit.
Then i was at the right station and it was supposed to be a 3 min walk from the station but after asking a few people i was send the wrong way a couple of times and ended up walking for 1,5 hour instead of 3 min and finally arrived at the hotel with blisters on my hand hahaha. Thats how i somehow always end up.
And when i was at the hotel I had to wait an hour before i could check in but atleast then i could leave my suitcases at the hotel :). So i kind knew the neighborhood by then and got some fruit and something to drink and a new mascara at the 100 yen shop :D whats around 1 dollar i think. Then finally got my hotelroom which looks great with all handy stuff in it and pretty spacious for a single room. And ofcourse i got to call my parents on skype right away and after that took a 3,5 hour nap and didnt have a dinner cause i was so sleepy and just had some soup and some fruit for dinner haha. And now its already the end of the day, tomorrow gonna go to a mall if i dont get lost and look around there and just gonna enjoy walking around without suitcases hahah.

Hey allemaal!
Daar ben ik dan eindelijk in Tokyo Japan. Uiteindelijk vloog ik met Japan airlines waar ik heel blij mee was aangezien hun service echt goed is en je kreeg ook veel eten en drinken waar ik blij mee was aangezien het een lange vlucht was.
Toen ik op narita aankwam ging het gelukkig allemaal goed en snel met de douane en kreeg ik een tijdelijk ID kaart voor de komende 5 maanden. Daarna ff snel gepind en treinkaartjes gekocht en op het metro station kwam ik aan de praat met een meisje uit Engeland en die moest 1 station verder dan mij dus samen hebben we een beetje het zitten uit te vogelen met metro en trein haha.
Uiteindelijk bij het station aangekomen hoorde het een 3 minuten wandeling te zijn naar het hotel. Maar bij mij werd dat uiteindelijk 1,5 uur aangezien ik telkens verkeerde kanten werd opgestuurd. En uiteindelijk met blaren op me handen aangekomen bij het hotel en eindelijk me koffers kunnen afgeven en even snel nog wat fruit en drinken gehaald en masacara voor 70 euro cent gekocht bij een 100 yen shop :P en daarna kunnen inchecken.
Me hotel kamer ziet er super uit! Groot bed en overal handige dingetjes en kan me koffers mooi kwijt naast me bed haha. Snel geskyped met me ouders en daarna 3,5 uur geslapen en toen voor het avond eten maar simpel wat fruit en een sultana en wat cup-a-soup gehad. En morgen lekker uitgebreid ontbijten haha.
Morgen ga ik als het goed is naar een groot warenhuis en winkelstraten als ik de weg tenminste niet kwijtraak haha. En waarschijnlijk gewoon rondwandelen eindelijk zonder koffers! :P

Hey everybody!
So i just arrived at Helsinki airport in Finland :D
After saying goodbye to my family which was a bit emotional, I went straight to my gate because i was a on the late side with going through the customs etc. However, I arrived right on time and was able to go to my seat almost right away :)
And that's when i found out i won the lottery in airplane seats hahaha. I had a seat all the way in the back next to the window and the seat next to me was free so I could easily put my chair back and enjoy the view and the extra space haha.
And right now im sitting here in Helsinki in super handy seats where I can recharge my laptop and write my blog while listening to music and using my wifi to talk to friends and family haha.
Now its just waiting for my next flight to Tokyo which will leave around 17:25 local time.
Here are some pics of the moomin shop i found here at the airport! For people who dont know it, its a really old finish animation tv show about really cute creatures called moomins.
And now im just hoping that i will be able to find my way to the hotel in Tokyo really fast and have a good flight there :P

Hey allemaal! Zoals jullie hierboven op de fotos kunnen zien heb ik het wel naar me zin hier haha.
Vanochtend ben ik vanaf schiphol vertrokken naar Helsinki, eerst even een emotioneel afscheid gehad met me familie en 1 van me beste vriendinnen en daarna snel naar de juiste gate gegaan aangezien het allemaal wat langer duurde bij de douane. Gelukkig was ik wel gewoon op tijd bij de gate en kon ik bijna gelijk doorlopen. En toen kwam ik erachter dat ik de jackpot van vliegtuigstoelen had gewonnen hahaha. Ik zat helemaal achterin bij het raam en de stoel naast me was leeg dus ik heb lekker zitten genieten van het uitzicht met me stoel achterover en de extra ruimte haha.
Nu nog even wachten op me vlucht naar Tokyo die om ongeveer 17.25 zal vertrekken en ik heb de perfecte plaats gevonden waar ik me laptop op kan laden en rustig muziek kan luisteren en me blog kan bijwerken :P
Nu maar hopen dat het in Tokyo allemaal goed gaat en ik snel de weg kan vinden naar het hotel en dat de vlucht natuurlijk goed gaat.
Ps. ik kwam ook nog een Moomin winkel tegen! echt super schattig ik was helemaal vergeten dat die uit Finland kwamen hahaha. Als ze niet zo duur waren had ik er zeker 1 gekocht als souvenirtje :P

Almost time! / Bijna zover!

Hey everybody!
So only 2 more days and then I'm going to fly to Japan! I had a great birthday/goodbye party and got a lot of great presents and a memory book full of messages from my friends and family. Today I had lunch with 2 of my best friends and was able to get some last minute shopping done with the gift cards that I got as presents from everybody. :)
Tomorrow I'm gonna go to the city once more with my other best friend and we are just gonna enjoy our last few hours together before I am leaving. And in the evening I'm gonna have dinner with my family and a good friend at a restaurant and I'm sure its gonna be great and probably a bit emotional aswell but thats okey.
Almost finished all my packing and then just hoping my suitcases don't weight to much hahah.
Well thats about it for now and I will probably write one more update before I go to Japan or when i have arrived there.

Hey allemaal!
Het is bijna zover! nog 2 dagen in Nederland en daarna vliegen naar Japan! Ik had een super leuk verjaardags/afscheids feestje en heb hele leuke cadeaus gehad en een mooie map vol berichtjes en herinneringen van al mijn vrienden en familie. Vandaag lekker geluncht met 2 van me beste vrienden en nog wat last minute winkelen gedaan van de cadeaukaarten die ik had gekregen van iedereen.
Morgen ga ik eerst nog even de stad in met mijn andere beste vriendin waar we nog ff lekker samen kunnen rondlopen voordat ik vertrek. En in de avond ga ik nog een laatste keer uiteten met me familie en een goede vriend van ons ;). Ik weet dat het heel gezellig zal zijn maar misschien ook een beetje emotioneel maar dat is niet zo erg haha.
Bijna klaar met koffers inpakken, nu alleen nog hopen dat ze niet te zwaar zijn hahah.
Nou dat is het wel een beetje voor nu en ik zal waarschijnlijk nog 1 keer wat schrijven voor ik vertrek en anders als ik aankom in Japan.

Preparation / Voorbereidingen...

Hey everybody!
As you might know im going to Japan as part of my education. I am going to Akita International University for 4 months and I will have about 3 weeks of vacation attached to it.
I will leave to Tokyo,Japan the 27th of march and will arrive there the 28th. I will have to change planes in Helsinki so lets hope I won't get lost there haha.
Then I will stay in Tokyo till the 1st of April and go to Akita by bullet train so that will be around 3-4 hours traveling instead of a 10 hour bus ride.
Then I will have a 2 week introduction week starting from April the 2nd and I hope I will meet lots of awesome people then and make a lot of new friends!
I will be studying at AIU for 4 months till the 31st of July and then I will be leaving to Tokyo again the 1st of August and meet up with one of my best friends from the Netherlands.
And we will travel to Kyoto, Osaka and some other places for the next 11 days. The 12th of August we will be returning home again and will arrive that same day in the Netherlands around  6pm.
Next week will be my birthday/goodbye party and I hope it will be fun and then its time to start packing my suitcases again.

I am hoping I can update my blog around 2-3 times a week but I will have to look if im going to be really busy or not.

Im looking forward to it!! :D

Hey allemaal!

Zoals jullie misschien al weten ga ik binnenkort als onderdeel van mijn opleiding naar Japan. Ik ga naar Akita international University voor 4 maanden en zal daar vakken volgen die met mijn opleiding te maken hebben zoals japans, en vakken over het japanse bedrijfsleven. Ik plak er in totaal nog 3 weken vakantie aan vast, van te voren 1 en aan het eind 2. Om toch nog even te kunnen rondreizen en gewoon te kunnen genieten van het land. 

Ik zal 27 maart om 11.40 in de ochtend vertrekken richting Tokyo en zal een tussen stop maken in Helsinki. En dan kom ik de volgende dag om 10:10 s'ochtends lokale tijd aan. Ik zal tot 1 April in een hotel in Tokyo verblijven en daarna ga ik met de sneltrein naar Akita wat een reis van ongeveer 3-4 zal zijn. Dit is al een groot verschil met de 10 uur durende busreis die dezelfde route maakt. Vanaf 2 April zal mijn school beginnen met een 2 weken durende introductie week waar ik hopelijk snel veel nieuwe mensen zal ontmoeten en waar ik hopelijk veel vrienden zal maken. Daarna zal mijn gewone lesrooster beginnen en dit zal duren tot 31 juli 2014. 

Vanaf 1 augustus heb ik afgesproken in Tokyo met 1 van mijn beste vriendinnen uit Nederland. En zullen in de 2 weken daarna rondreizen naar verschillende plaatsen in Japan waaronder Kyoto en Osaka. Op 12 Augustus is het dan eindelijk weer tijd om naar huis te gaan en we zullen dan rond 6 uur s'avonds weer in Nederland aankomen.

Volgende week lekker mijn verjaardag/afscheidsfeesje vieren en daarna tijd om mijn koffers verder in te pakken.

Ik hoop in Japan zelf zo;n 2-3 keer in de week mijn blog te updaten maar het is nog afwachten hoe druk het ga hebben. 

Ik heb er zin in!! :D
